What we collect, and why

• Your name

  So a broker knows who they are meeting.

• Your email address

  To sign you in, verify you, and send viewing updates.

• Your phone number

  So a broker can reach you about a viewing you asked for.

• Onboarding preferences (budget, locations, purpose, property types, timeline)

  To show you homes that actually fit instead of a random list.

• Your contact preference on a viewing request (call, SMS, email, or in-app)

  So the broker reaches you the way you asked to be reached.

• Swipes, shortlists, and saves

  To keep your shortlist, avoid repeating listings, and improve what we show you.

• Impression events (which listings appeared on your screen)

  To measure which homes get seen so listings and ordering can be improved.

• First-touch marketing source (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign)

  To know which channel introduced you to Latch. Recorded once, never updated.

• An anonymous device id, if you browse without an account

  A random code stored on your device — no name, email or phone. It lets us count how many people browse before signing up.

• Anonymous browsing activity (listings seen, swipes, shortlists, saves) before you sign up

  To understand how people use Latch before creating an account. It is linked to the random device code only, and to your account if you later sign up.
